PRSD designates September 30, 2021 as a non-operational day in honour of National Truth and Reconciliation Day
On September 17 Peace River School Division announced that September 30, 2021 will be designated as a non-operational day to demonstrate a commitment to the process of Truth and Reconciliation. This means that PRSD students and staff will not attend school on that day.
As September 30th is "Orange Shirt Day", PRSD trustees have declared September 27 to October 1, 2021 as Truth and Reconciliation Week in PRSD schools. This means that all PRSD students will continue to learn about the history and legacy of residential schools through various learning activities during this week and throughout the year.
