PAUL ROWE IS INSPIRING EDUCATION!
Paul Rowe Jr./Sr. High School’s "Green Thumbs" program has been featured by Alberta
Education on their “Inspiring Education” website. The website communicates the transformation happening in the Alberta education system. The "Inspiration in Action" section, where the Green Thumbs”
program is featured celebrates schools and school divisions that are taking a new approach to teaching and learning.
The Green Thumbs program was designed to support the new direction in education which develops engaged thinkers and ethical citizens with an entrepreneurial spirit. The program, which is a partnership with NPARA and Amicis Gardens, began in the spring of 2014. The group planned, planted, cared for and harvested their crop. Students then sold the produce at the local farmers market and proceeds were donated to their sister school in Kenya through the Farmers Helping Farmers organization.
